Alpha Rho Alumni Chapter

Continuing a tradition which began in 1983, the Annual Canoe Trip is held in late August. Alumni and undergrads hold the yearly event at Cheat Lake with tons of food, fun and sun.

Since its 1999 resurrection by the Alumni Chapter, the Annual Canoe Trip has brought over 600 undergraduates, alumni and friends to the area on the lake commonly called the “sandbar”. Formed from the 1985 flood, the sandbar has been a favorite area for many boaters and Pi Kappa Phi to play sand volleyball, canoe, bar-b-que and camp.

The Canoe Trip is the only social event sponsored by the Alumni Chapter. Due to the considerable cost involved in this event, the AC has asked that each Alumnus in attendance contribute a minimum of $50 for the event. While this is not a requirement, we ask that each attending alumnus consider making this contribution to help offset the substantial cost of a successful canoe trip.
